High School Aviation Program (H.A.P.I)

Are You Trying to Decide what Profession to Pursue? Aviation is a prestigious option.

Now is the time to consider a career as a Professional Pilot. A recent study by Boeing predicted a need for 500,000+ pilots over the next 20 years.

This deficit creates a lucrative opportunity for those who choose aviation as a career. Captains of large jet aircraft now earn an average of US$252 per hour.

Aspiring pilots can begin to fly solo as early as age 16 and can be flying for a commercial airline by age 23.

With a growing demand for more persons to join the Aviation Industry, the Aeronautical School of the West Indies has built a high school aviation program that will fit into your extracurricular activities and develop your career goals.

This program is for individuals with a career interest as a Pilot and/or Aircraft Maintenance Technician and who have not reached the required age for commencement of flight training. Each pathway will also help students build career-ready skills while they learn more about opportunities in the aviation and aerospace industry. This program is designed for students in Grades 7 through 11. A Commercial Pilot’s License can be obtained as early as age 18 through completing the PPL and CPL courses. Completing HAPI will guarantee up to a 40% discount on Ground School.

This program is presented online weekly and will be uploaded on our website for review at students’ convenience.

Live Classes are on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. The program is scheduled to run each year from September to June.
